FAQs

How does the 2020 version differ from previous versions?

The 2020 version:

  1. Presents all FORTIFIED Home standards (Hurricane, High Wind, Hail) in a single, bookmarked document that is easier to navigate.
  2. Includes the latest technical updates, including those that make FORTIFIED consistent with model building code changes and ASCE 7-16.
  3. Includes new content that clarifies the language of previous versions and simplifies compliance forms, which is intended to make it easier to interpret and apply the standards.

See Summary of Changes for specific details.
