Calculators

FORTIFIED Porch / Carport Uplift Calculator

This calculator may be used as guidance for the prescriptive retrofit of single level attached structures for existing homes seeking Silver or greater designation when there is no professional engineer involved. If the porch meets the eligibility requirements, the contractor may use the calculator to determine the minimum required uplift capacities for the attached structure’s connections and select and install retrofit connectors accordingly.

FORTIFIED Wind Uplift Design Pressure Calculator (ASCE 7-10)

This calculator may be used as guidance to help determine code-compliant required design uplift pressures for non-shingle roof cover systems installed on steep slope roofs when there is no professional engineer involved.

FORTIFIED Wind Uplift Design Pressure Calculator (ASCE 7-16)

This calculator may be used as guidance to help determine code-compliant required design uplift pressures for non-shingle roof cover systems installed on steep slope roofs when there is no professional engineer involved.

Technical Bulletins

FORTIFIED technical bulletins serve two purposes.

1) Provide additional technical information that must be used in conjunction with FORTIFIED Home standards.
2) Provide approved optional methods to achieve compliance with FORTIFIED Home standards requirements.

Standard Details – Full Sets

To help clarify parts of the FORTIFIED Roof Standards, IBHS created a series of construction detail drawings. We hope the drawings aid in the design of new roofs and help to eliminate confusion at installation.
