FORTIFIED Porch / Carport Uplift Calculator

This calculator may be used as guidance for the prescriptive retrofit of single level attached structures for existing homes seeking Silver or greater designation when there is no professional engineer involved. If the porch meets the eligibility requirements, the contractor may use the calculator to determine the minimum required uplift capacities for the attached structure’s connections and select and install retrofit connectors accordingly.

Corrosion Resistance Requirements – Map Set

The FORTIFIED Home Standard has minimum corrosion protection requirements for homes located near a saltwater shoreline. These requirements can be found in FORTIFIED Home Technical Bulletin FH 2021-02: Corrosion Resistant Fasteners.  To provide additional guidance interpreting the definition of a saltwater shoreline, maps are provided for some areas.
